Furnace won't start reason #5 resolved

The gas was turned off so someone could work on the line or other reasons. Now the gas is on, but the furnace won't light. The system went into lockout. It will try to light 3 times then locks out. To reset it turn thermostat off. Turn the breaker to furnace off. It is in the gray panel box where the power is. Turn it all back on. If the furnace doesn't start in 5 minutes, do it again.   Gas co put a lock on this one. It is shiny metal. Call them back. Do not let the furnace try to light without gas.  Issues we can fix fast The furnace tries to come on but it won't light The furnace flames come on but the blower doesn't The blower runs constantly but no heat The flames come on but go right out The thermostat clicks on but the furnace never starts The thermostat clicks on but the air conditioner won't start The fan comes on but its not cooling The fan on a/c isn't spinning The air conditioner is buzzing and won't come on The a/c makes a loud noise but doesn&

The a/c would not come on, resolved today

So the a/c would not come on. This is a good reason not to fix it yourself. I found the disconnect melted. You can get shocked or start a fire. Always call for service.  Turned off the power and looked inside the a/c. Everything was ok. Removed disconnect cover to find a melted mess. This should have tripped the breaker but didn't, making this a dangerous job. Call for service I'm sure you would have been shocked. Not me, I turn off breakers 1st on a call like this.  Replaced the disconnect and burned wires , tested the capacitor. I put a hard start on this one since it had a high amp draw at start up. This was $285 with service call labor and parts. Not all jobs are the same.
