Reason #7 your air conditioner won't start.

Image
Tripped Breaker Sometimes, a malfunctioning air conditioner may come as a result of a tripped electrical breaker. If the system isn't working at all, this is a likely reason. Even if the system is partially working, a tripped breaker could still be to blame, depending on the type of air conditioner you have. It may be that the outside unit has lost power while the inside unit is still working.  Flip the breaker back on to restore power to the unit and see if this fixes the problem. If the breaker trips again, refrain from restoring the power and contact an HVAC technician to identify the source of the problem. How long to keep an old a/c

The initial cost of replacing your AC unit is high, but that doesn’t mean you should avoid a new purchase. Don’t make the mistake of keeping your old air conditioner long than you should. An old air conditioner will perform poorly, cost you more money in repairs and eventually become more trouble than it’s worth. If your AC unit is 15 to 19 years old or older, investing in a newer, more efficient version will save you money and aggravation over time. If it's 20 you need a new one asap.. Saturday in Henry County and the a/c stopped

Image
Customer said the inside is on but the a/c outside is not running. I told them to check breakers. It was on at breaker. I told them to turn it off until a technician can get there. I was able to get there in 45 minutes on a Saturday. I found the wires was melted on the capacitor. The capacitor was melted at the top. Do not touch this. Aaac service had the correct size on the truck. It was running within 1hr from initial call.  The furnace tries to come on but it won't light The furnace flames come on but the blower doesn't The blower runs constantly but no heat The flames come on but go right out The thermostat clicks on but the furnace never starts The thermostat clicks on but the air conditioner won't start The fan comes on but its not cooling The fan on a/c isn't spinning The air conditioner is buzzing and won't come on The a/c makes a loud noise but doesn't start The ac has a humming but not coming on The air conditioner is running but not cooling
