There was a big burn on this air conditioner in Mcdonough. It looked like something was on fire. The homeowner didn't know it was there. I could see wires and stuff on the inside in that area. We took the top off and found a repair. Another heating and cooling company had repaired the copper coil inside this a/c. There was a lot of damage but they did save the unit. The voltage in an air conditioner can be deadly. Don't try to fix it yourself. Lots of bare wires and metal with power to them inside the cover. Don't trust the panel box to be labeled right. I trusted the panel box today and the thing was wrong. There is a big chunk out of my screwdriver. I touch it to the contactor thinking the power was off. Some jerk labeled the breakers wrong.
